If you have a Medilink database error that seemingly cannot be solved using all of the standard methods, our advice as a last resort is often to rename your existing Medilink install, and re-install Medilink from scratch (and then copy in the data/letters/scans folders).

Sometimes however you may encounter a problem with the re-install, where it says "Could Not Merge BDE Configuration File". You will get various other database errors too, but this is the first one you will see.

If this happens, run the BDEInfoSetup.EXE tool and re-install the BDE using it.

We have noticed that this may be caused by alternate Paradox/BDE installations that are later uninstalled. For example, Corel Wordperfect comes with it and works fine with the Medilink BDE - until you uninstall Wordperfect.
