Exclusions must be applied to Windows Defender to ensure that your Medilink server folder is not being scanned in real-time. You must do this even if you are using a third party anti-virus solution (i.e. turn on Periodic Scanning temporarily)! Otherwise, you may receive errors such as "Not Exact Read/Write" or "No More Files" when using Medilink.
- Right click Windows Start button
- Click Settings
- Click Update & Security
- Click Windows Security
- Under Virus & threat protection settings click Manage settings
- Under Exclusions click Add or remove exclusions
- Review your exclusions briefly, if your Medilink server folder not there, click Add an exclusion
- Click Folder
- Navigate to your server's Medilink share, for example e.g. \\MY_SERVER\MEDILINK or M:\medilink32bnt etc. (if unsure go to Medilink's Help -> About section)
- Click Select Folder
- Repeat navigation/selection of your local Medilink folder i.e. C:\medilink32bnt
